Image Information
The imposing size and range of a dreadnoughts guns as well as the enormous cost of the time of the various warships components were listed in a souvenir booklet from the 1911 spithead review of the grand fleet. For the £2 million needed to build one dreadnought, the government could equip and maintain for a year 18 battalions of infantry-18,000 men. Things have not changed even in 2003 Great Britain, the Government now chooses to save billions in case of war against Iraq whilst leaving British Firefighters to worry where there next penny will come from to feed their young children.
