| Image Information HMS Charybdis prior to Operation Pedestal and the later 1943 Operation Tunnel. Here the 5700-ton anti aircraft light cruiser is seen at sea broad port side. Her combat paint work is obvious while the huge bridge section towers almost central to the ship. A section of the wreck that is still today reasonably intact. Here her dazzle paint work indicates why she was so called named by the Germans as the 'Blue Devil'. Image courtesy Mr. Neil Wood. Back to Gallery |
