During June of 2001 Keith Morris
(pictured left) led a small team of 7 divers to investigate
the wreck of HMS Charybdis in a depth of 280ft off the North
French coast. Morris selected his 2001 team from individuals
whom had experience in specific field's. The expedition was
a success and Keith went on to build on his all British team
for the return to France in order to search for Limbourne. This
page is dedicated to those who made these expeditions a success.
London based Keith Morris became one of the first Trimix divers
in the UK although has been diving since the 1960's. He has
made a lifetime career as a rock and roll photographer, today
he is heavily involved in UK TDI board of directors for technical
diving. More recently he has been involved in underwater film
making for the BBC. |
Left and Centered; Paul Haslam & John Ovenden aboard
the research vessel Deep seeker
were ultimately responsible for the location discovery of what was
believed to be that of HMS
Limbourne during the 2002 expedition. Paul Haslam was able to record
the wreck with sonar
side scan equipment. They are also involved in the documentary making
and their company
channel Isles based ' Underwater video Services are also responsible
for publication work.

of choice for the 2002 Limbourne project
and was responsible for final location and operation of the divers
on the wreck, his charter
Skin Deep
of Weymouth England provided the ultimate platform for the team.
His girl friend Holly
worked hard aboard Skin Deep as deck hand whilst proving as asset
to the divers surface logistics.

Off shore Ltd provided his dive Charter
Weychieftain for the 2001 Charybdis expedition. In conjunction with
John Ovenden Graham
located the wreck and work surface logistics for the entire expedition.
His skills as a wreck hunter
are second to known and is regarded as one of England finest boat
skippers
Left of center; Cardiff based Guy Middleton is an award winning
photographer and committee
member of the British Society of Underwater Photographers, during
the 2001 Limbourne expedition
he was responsible for Deep still photography work, Communications
on the French mainland as well
as gas and haskel logistics. He was also responsible for various
sponsorship.
Right of Center; Leigh
Bishop. Responsible for Deep water still Photography and final
publication
work during both expeditions 2001-2002.
Right; Electrical and lighting specialist Julian Guest joined
the 2002 Limbourne expedition as
Deep water video cameraman.
Left; Chris Hutchison. Responsible for Deep water video
work during the 2002 Limbourne expedition.
Known to his friend's as 'Hutch' he is regarded as perhaps one of
the most experienced mix gas
wreck divers in the world. Today he works his skills mainly in production
work.
Left of center; Roy Smith. Exploration diver on both 2001-2002
expeditions. Roy was responsible for
gas logistics' during the 2001 Charybdis expedition. Today he works
as a tube driver in London.
Right of Center; Tim Bach. Exploration diver on both 2001-2002
expeditions. Tim was responsible
for communications during the 2001 Charybdis expedition and gas
mixing during 2002.

Keeling. Both survivors of Limbourne & Charybdis joined
the 2002 Limbourne
expedition at sea as well as on the mainland. Neil was Radar operator
aboard HMS Limbourne when
she was lost and Steve Keeling was Ships diver aboard HMS Charybdis
when she was lost.
Both Steve and Neil provided the expedition with advice and identification
during the replays of film.
Right; Frenchman Alain Launay was responsible for the location
back in 1993 of HMS Charybdis
and joined the 2002 Limbourne expedition on the mainland. He was
responsible for publicity
on the French mainland and advised on the ships. He was also responsible
for the memorial in the
town of Perros-Guirec of both ships.
