From commercial reports and talking to some of the divers that salvaged the wreck during the 1980's I knew that the wreck was home to some large conger. Indeed there was a huge amount of marine life here including large conger and free swimming conger at that. At one stage of a dive I rested my camera down while I sent up a nice intact but large porthole from the wreck that I took a liking to, while I was attaching the lift bag and filling it with (expensive) gas one conger in particular decided to have a snappy little peck at my drysuit arm. I was disgusted at the shear audacity of the fuckin thing, lets put it this way I was on a mission to bag that port up if I hadn't I would have given it a good fuck off head butt!I took this image of a free swimming fish inside the bow corridor that led to the internal compartments and various rooms. This lucky one got away.
