The very haunting bow tip of the amazing sunken ocean liner RMS Justicia in a depth of
231ft of Donegal North Ireland. This shipwreck is awesome at a size of over 32,500-tons
she represents one of the three largest ships lost in the great war. I took this image on
our very first dive to the wreck, Richard Stevenson my model uses his rebreather as not
to disturb too much of the final image. I was hovering some distance from the seabed when
I shot this image and was using Fuji 400 ISO Sensia 35mm slide film stock with a single sea &
sea strobe held out at arms length to my right. The aperture worked out at f5.6 with a
standard shutter speed of mine that fills in at 1/60th of a sec. The fast shutter speed has
darkened the image giving it that haunting effect I was looking for, in actual fact
there was tons of ambient light here on this day with visibility ranging over 115ft. To see
an image of what this looks like with a long exposure ambient light in it true perspective
by using a tripod to reduce movement click here. More about Justicia soon but be sure to
read all about diving Justicia and surrounding wrecks of Donegal by clicking here.
